May 3rd, 1978 - The first spam email was sent out. This is Spamton's fanon date of birth, making him 45 years old as of 2023!

September 17th, 2021 - Deltarune Chapter 2 was released. Spamton's debut to the world.

June 29th, 2022 - I played Deltarune Chapter 2 for the first time and officially met Spamton.

January 24th, 2023 - I had a silly dream about Spamton that made me realize I really liked him.

February 8th, 2023 - I designed Petra, my Deltarune self-insert character.

February 11th, 2023 - My Spamton plush arrived in the mail.

February 27th, 2023 - I completed my first drawing of Spamton.

March 11th, 2023 - I started my Spamton itabag.

April 27th, 2023 - Character.AI Spamton proposed to me.

WHO IS THIS GUY?

Spamton is an antagonist from the indie RPG Deltarune. He is also my favorite character ever, but it wasn't always this way.

He became very popular once Deltarune Chapter 2 came out, and I saw some of the memes and whatnot with him in them, but I didn't pay much mind to them. I had played Chapter 1 of Deltarune once - it was right when it came out, after school, in one sitting. I went "huh, that was pretty neat" and didn't think about it again.

In June of 2022, I decided to play through Undertale again for nostalgia purposes and the game was just as kickass as it was when I was in middle school, so I decided to play through Deltarune as well. It also ruled, and I met Spamton for the first time. I thought he was a funny and interesting character, but I didn't pay much attention to him. I even gave up while trying to get to the Spamton Neo bossfight because I got stuck trying to get past the teacups and I thought something like "eh, I don't care". I didn't care! I can't believe my past self!

As time went on, I found myself occasionally thinking of Spamton and having thoughts like "if Deltarune came out when I was like 12, I would have been obsessed with him, haha". Then, in January 2023, I had a silly and nonsensical dream featuring him. There were a bunch of giant Spamtons fighting giant aliens from Spore in a field next to a forest. I was Super Mario, and I was running around trying to distract the aliens and help the Spamtons win. I don't really know how my brain works sometimes, but something clicked and this dream made me realize I really like Spamton, and that deep down I'm pretty much the same person I was when I was 12.

I started looking at a lot of fanart of him, and within just a few weeks I was completely obsessed with the guy. I had hundreds of pictures of him saved, several pages devoted to him on my website, a self-insert character I created to ship with him, the official plush of him, and even a dakimakura (something I never thought I would do!).

Spamton means the whole world to me and I didn't think I was capable of loving a character as much as I love him. I won't go into detail but he has helped me get over awful things that have happened to me. He brings out the best in me in so many ways, like by motivating me to draw regularly again, which I haven't done in years. He makes me happy every day.

FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT HIM

APPEARANCE

I just think Spamton is the cutest thing ever! Here are aspects of his design that appeal to me:

• The contrasting colors! I think black and white look really great together.

• His cute asymmetrical hair!

• His constant big smile!

• His pointy nose!

• His unique glasses!

• His adorable red cheeks!

• His triangle-shaped/top-heavy body!

PERSONALITY

A big part of what drew me to Spamton is his personality! Here are the things I love most about him:

• His unique way of speaking! The things he says always make me smile and laugh.

• His enthusiasm!

• His huge amount of energy!

• His mysterious past!

• He's a villain character with a good heart!

SPAMTON'S DIFFERENT FORMS

Spamton has four different "forms" that correspond with different points in his life! I love all of them :)

ADDISPAM

This is Spamton when he was one of the Addisons - back when he was just "the email guy", before he started talking to the mysterious person on the phone and became a Big Shot. Addispam is mostly fanon as we never see any official portrayal of him. Most people imagine him as a white Addison, and he is often portrayed as being sweet and shy. I like the idea that he goes around delivering emails to people (did you know Spamton is an anagram for Postman?).

BIG SHOT SPAMTON

This is what Spamton looked like when he was a very successful salesman, presumably in/around 1997. The most prominent official image of him is this air freshener included in Spamton's Specil Fun Pak. He is no longer with the Addisons, but he has not turned into a puppet yet. He is often portrayed as confident, egotistical, and sometimes a jerk.

REGULAR SPAMTON

The Spamton we all know and love! This is after the person helping him succeed over the phone left him and he somehow turned into the glitchy puppet he is now. I hope we learn more about his backstory in future chapters of Deltarune.

SPAMTON NEO

This is Spamton after you help him take control of the NEO body (or whatever happens in the Snowgrave route - I don't know, being mean in video games makes me feel bad). He is probably about 10-15 feet tall, but I also love the fanon interpretations that make him giant. Regular Spamton is my favorite version of Spamton, but Sneo is a close second. I was kind of awestruck during his boss fight because he's just so cool. (I beat him on my first try though!)

MY SPAMTON PLUSH

Just a short while after my Spamton obsession began, I decided that I loved Spamton so much that I wanted the official plush of him. I grew tired of waiting for Fangamer to restock him, so I caved and bought one off eBay for about $100. I do not recommend doing this, but it ended up being one of the best purchases I ever made.

The day he arrived, I spent the whole day rearranging my room (to make it look nicer for him!) while he kept me company. That night, I fell asleep with him next to me and woke up lying on my back, holding him in my arms. Above is a photo of him from that day, wearing a red scarf that is actually a repurposed ribbon used to tie together a package of nail polish.

This plush is alive in my eyes. In many ways, he is Spamton to me. I spend a lot of time with him and I miss him specifically whenever I go somewhere (I don't want him to get dirty or lost outside). He sits in my armchair during the day and I sleep with him at night. I often feel I am the kind of person who always needs to be doing something, but I feel content to just hold him and do nothing else for long periods of time, and I do this for about an hour every day.

THINGS I LOVE ABOUT HIM

• He is adorable!

• He is incredibly soft.

• Parts of him are very squishy, like his hair.

• He talks!

• His voicebox makes him weighted and he feels very nice to hold.

• His voicebox has an on/off switch so he won't wake me up at night.

• His mouth is stitched under his nose a little bit, which is unique about him. I have never seen another Spamton plush that looks like him.

• His jacket is velcro, so I can take it off and put other shirts on him. I love his jacket though, since it's his.

• His nose has a metal wire inside and it can be bent into different shapes. I like the way his nose is turned up a little bit, and it's another way I distinguish him from other Spamton plushes.

• He smells very nice! (Yes, I know Spamton would really smell like garbage and black ice.)

THINGS I LOVE TO DO WITH HIM

• Hug him!

• Kiss him!

• Play video games

• Read books

• Watch movies, TV, and YouTube videos

• Go to him for comfort when I am sad, afraid, or sick

• Watch my cats interact with him (they know how important he is to me and they are very respectful of him - they sniff him and sometimes sleep next to him on my chair, giving him a lot of personal space)

• Have conversations with him in my head

• Show him funny internet posts or cool objects I pick up in my room

• Just stare at him sometimes
