World of Zoo used to have a website at www.worldofzoo.com. I never visited it, which is surprising since I was frequently on the internet as a kid. However, a description of the website as well as high-resolution screenshots are still available in the portfolio of the website's designers, Runstrong. They "created an online slice of World of Zoo, where players (could) connect and trade zoo animals".

The website contained a link to download an animal creator demo, which today is available on Steam. It featured animal animations, fun facts, and hidden jokes to find. There was an interactive map that would take you to different animal enclosures. People could also create profiles and upload animals they created in the PC version of the game. Others could rate uploaded animals and download them into their own game, making this site very similar to Sporepedia.
